Kotlin Developer

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Kotlin Engineer to join a large financial institution for a hybrid, long term contract located in Burgess Hill. The successful candidate will be working on a large-scale net new mobile application development being rolled out in the organisation.

The chosen candidate will work in a globally located scrum team to work on the organisation’s mobile application service layer (backend for frontend) with millions of users worldwide. The candidate will work with their teams to understand the stories and requirements to develop and design a solution wherein they identify which underlying APIs or systems, they need to code to retrieve or post the information.

Using Kotlin, the chosen candidate will have to develop the web services to consume the information and create a curated response which is needed for iOS and Android development. This role will completely be backend webservices development work. This role will require experience working with stakeholders across the organisation.

Requirements:

• Professional development experience in an Agile, enterprise environment.
• Experience with back-end development, specifically Java.
• Experience with Kotlin programming language.
• Development experience in building server-side applications.
• Working hands on with code, writing and building from scratch.
• Hands on experience with Microservices.
• Experience with REST APIs.
• Hands on professional experience developing web services.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
