Metallurgist Project Engineer

Aperam Alloys is a major global player in nickel alloys and special stainless steels. On the Imphy site, with 800 employees, we develop, transform and market different product formats: cold-rolled strips, plates, ingots, bars, wires, in many metallurgical grades.

The products are intended for very demanding applications such as aeronautics, automotive or electrical engineering.

To manufacture them, we use various industrial facilities located in Europe. All the facilities dedicated to a product constitute an industrial route.

Reporting to our “Industrial Routes Manager”, your role will be:

• Establish industrial routes and seek their efficiency.
• Coordinate projects such as the development of new roads, or the development and improvement of existing roads.
• Team management of development projects (new products) / process improvement and development of new routes in collaboration with the marketing and development department

For this, you will have the following missions:

• Guarantee the construction of the technical file for the construction of new roads (issues, risk analysis, test plan, resources, costs)
• Ensure the establishment of industrial routes and define the strategy for the use of these routes.
• Evaluate the economic performance of industrial roads on a monthly basis (% scrap, metal balance, productivity, shrinkage, costs);
• Establish performance standards, identify drifts and deposits.

Qualifications

• You have an engineering degree with a materials specialization
• You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position in the industry
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills; speak fluent English and French
• You are an entrepreneur and you have a “change management” culture
• You are a good communicator and you have strong abilities to make your projects adhere to your target
• You are rigorous, methodical, autonomous and attentive, especially to customers.
• You have knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO TS 16949, EN 9100, ISO IEC 17025)
• You are familiar with quality tools: FMEA, PPAP, 5P, 8D, cause tree
• You enjoy piloting, developing and implementing projects with high added value
