Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technical Lead to join our team and support our growing business needs. The role involves day-to-day effective running of operations and fault activity. Also responsible for the workflow management in order to ensure that all the BAU routines & project tasks have been completed within the deadlines. There will also be an opportunity to stand in for the Manager as and when required. For projects, Engineering Technical Lead will work with the Programmes & Projects team, Engineering Team, Customers and third party contractors to prepare ready for installation, commissioning and integration of products and services

Magdalene operates as a Telecommunication Infrastructure Services Company and is part of the Telecom Division of M Group Services. Covering the full network lifecycle, we deliver Managed Services and Projects for both fixed and mobile infrastructure networks across the operator and utility markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse Design Documentation PDD/SIP/WI by use of technical knowledge and skills to interpret into an agreed deliverable solution working to HLD and LLD requirements.
  • Peer review documentation and method statements, and input to network designs
  • First Line support for installation Activities on site and provide progress reports.
  • Provide support for product Trials and Proof of Concepts which includes documented processes with Technical Information and Product feedback to allow/Justify Project deployment.
  • Completion of Installation Quality Reports or Installation Tick Sheets.
  • Periodic site visits during install phase (New Builds) to check progress/quality of works and H&S monitoring.
  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring all customer requests, internal and external, are progressed and dealt with accurately and in line with agreed business processes and procedures.
  • Create and improve existing network documentation, and creating LWI documentation.
  • Co-ordinate incident resolution activities across a number of internal teams and 3rd party suppliers ensuring customer incidents and changes are completed within agreed SLA.

Key Competencies / Experience

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to, and work closely with colleagues, clients, and suppliers at all levels of the technical hierarchy

  • Read and interpret Technical design documentation and translate into Work activities for Engineers.
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong personal time management, planning, and project coordination skills
  • Good level of technical knowledge of customer technical estate and networks, acting as a technical POC.
  • Proven experience in telecommunications industry
  • HNC / HND or Degree (or equivalent) in related subject
  • Cisco certification or relevant Technical skills
  • Previous data network background with experience of large-scale networks and related WAN/LAN technologies including, but not limited to TCP/IP, BGP, and OSPF. Telephony, Legacy Telecoms and IP Data LAN/WAN/MAN etc.
  • Understanding of security implications and application.
  • Able to demonstrate understanding of enterprise network tools.
  • Full, UK driving licence.
