About the Opportunity

Nuclear Power Programmes are delivering client critical works to some of our major UK and European Projects. Our embedded teams are delivering support to Hinkley Point C (New build power station in the South West), Sizewell C (located in the South East), helping develop technologies in SMR (Small modular Reactor) capability and working towards building Poland's first Nuclear Power station.

Working in both client facing and internal roles we are delivering major programme and project management capabilities throughout the project lifecycle. We are driving to deliver safe, high quality and to time solutions by thinking innovatively and working collaboratively.

We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager who will be based on site at HPC, half part time in the site office/half in the construction building to record all information from the supervisors and report to the site PM. Key responsibilities will be:
  • Monitor subcontractor cost performance, help in managing costs (accurately cost commercial pricing), suggest journal requests if needed
  • Review weekly/monthly management accounts and key performance information and see where areas of improvement can be made for margin
  • Monitor and maintain the data within the Site Works Management System
  • Ensure the timely and accurate billing of all work carried out within the Site project ensuring that client specified application/invoice dates are met
  • Manage the Early Warning and Compensation Event process as set out in the NEC form of Contract (or as amended by our clients T&C's)
  • Manage client disputes (Claims/variations) face to face and create a strong client link. Timely responses to Client enquiries, communication falling in line with the company ethos, follow all the delays on site due to the client issues and all the delays due to the non-performance of site personnel
  • Create In-Contract pricing, estimates and quotations and following through to final account settlement, assist the site project manager on any cost issue's, help to prepare revenue reports to facilitate preparation and publication of monthly management accounts
  • Contribute to the overall management of commercial aspects of contract including ensuring costs and revenue in correct periods.

Here's what you'll need:
  • Modern apprenticeship in Business Administration or equivalent relevant experience
  • Proven track record in all aspects of Administration in a fast moving environment
  • Experienced in diary management and travel and room booking, office supplies management and ordering
  • Excellent negotiating Skills
  • Good understanding of the NEC form of Contract
