Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Timber Frame Designer to join our team within Vistry Works, to be based at our factory in Warrington or Bardon, East Midlands. As our Timber Frame Designer, you will be responsible for the preparation, design and coordination of both new closed and open panel timber frame designs and Building Information Models. Working in conjunction with external manufacturers and suppliers and the internal production team.

Behave in line with our company values - Integrity, Caring and QualityA a minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role elsewhere, either in Modern Methods of Construction or Offsite Manufacturing/ConstructionYou will have experience of 3D CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit or Inventor. Competency in using WoodEngine, Consultec, Horizon, HSBcad or similar software is ideal for the role but not essential as training will be providedGood working knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Excel, Word and TeamsYou will have an understanding of materials/components used in the construction of low-rise buildingsYou will need to be self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative and manage your workload based on regional prioritiesYou will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to form and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholdersRevit & Pamir experience would be advantageous but not essentialExperience with steel detailing advantageous but not essentialExperience with designing trussed roofs would be advantageous but not essentialExperience with "I" Joist floor design would be advantageous but not essentialAn understanding of current building regulations would be beneficialQualification in Architectural Technology would be advantageous but not essential More about the Timber Frame Designer role...

Producing accurate and efficient wall and floor panel designs in line with specification, including producing cutting lists and CNC files for the factoryCo-ordinating 3 rd party floor & roof information ensuring accuracy and completenessProducing accurate Bills Of Materials and ancillary Take-offsGiving consideration to CDM regulations during the design processProviding technical assistance to site teams and factory colleagues, as and when requiredContinuous product development and innovationConsideration of CDM regulations always during designAttending regular production meetings and site feedback meetings as requestedAny other ad hoc duties that may required from time to time, as directed by the team leader Finally, let's tell you a bit more about us...
