Vacancy: Lead Reliability Engineer

Location: Maintenance

As the Lead Reliability Engineer, your role involves applying technical knowledge and experience to develop the optimal maintenance strategy, ensuring the long-term reliability of our Clitheroe site's assets. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, implementing FMECA and critical spares programs, applying Condition Based Maintenance techniques, and analysing SAP data to guide defect elimination programs that aim to enhance availability and reduce operational costs.

In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager and Lead Maintenance Engineer, you and your team of Improvement Engineers will offer technical advice on enhancing the reliability of ageing assets to meet operational requirements. Given that the Clitheroe site is classified as an upper-tier COMAH site, expertise in COMAH, PSSR, and EHS critical equipment is highly advantageous.

Your responsibilities:
  • Safety and Reliability: Ensure safe work practices, implement a Defect Elimination Program, and maintain asset integrity to achieve zero harm and optimize plant performance.
  • Strategic Asset Management: Develop and implement effective Asset Criticality and Asset Strategy Plans to optimize maintenance strategies.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive reliability improvements, enhance OEE, and reduce LOPCs through continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Process Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with process safety requirements, particularly for safety-critical systems.
  • Talent Development: Mentor and develop maintenance professionals to build a skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent maintenance in key initiatives and collaborate effectively with other teams to optimize plant operations.

Requirements for the role:
  • Completed a recognised maintenance apprenticeship and/or have attained NVQ Level 3 and HND equivalent.
  • Asset Integrity management experience of large process plant such as chemical, oil & gas, power, food or similar
  • A high level of general health and safety awareness appropriate to an industrial environment and be able to demonstrate leadership of applying risk assessment in a pragmatic way to ensure work can proceed safely
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels and produce clear, concise documents to high standard.
  • Excellent IT literacy skills (including use of MS Office)
  • Capable of providing leadership to a team of first line people managers
  • Experience implementing Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) methodology and management systems.
