About the Cinema for Peace Foundation:


Since 9/11, the Cinema for Peace initiative has focused on perceiving and resolving global social, political, and humanitarian challenges. In recent years, Cinema for Peace has supported humanitarian causes with notable figures such as Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio, Julia Roberts, Nicole Kidman, and public figures like the Dalai Lama, Muhammad Ali, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, and the former Honorary Patron, Nelson Mandela.


About the Opportunity:


The Cinema for Peace Foundation is currently in the process of organizing the ‘The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech and Humankind’, an annual conference held in Berlin. The aim of this event is to bring together leaders from various spheres, including politics, civil society and culture, who are actively involved in shaping ideas and strategies for global progress and profound transformation. The World Forum serves as a platform for discussion and addressing of pressing socio-political issues of our time, with the potential to foster advancements in democracy, peace, justice and freedoms. The Cinema for Peace Foundation is currently in search of volunteers to join the World Forum team, contributing to the planning and execution of The World Forum.


As a volunteer, your responsibilities will include:


  • Partnership Development: Proactively reach out to potential strategic and funding partners in G20 countries, coordinating monthly film screenings and panel discussions;
  • Fundraising Support: Assist with fundraising initiatives for The World Forum, which may include organizing high-level fundraising events, auctions, membership programs and maintaining relationships with artists and galleries;
  • Administrative Tasks: Handle general administrative tasks such as managing mailing and guest lists, conducting desk research and monitoring news and global political conflicts;
  • Communication Strategy: Support The World Forum's communication strategy by drafting, posting and reposting on various social media platforms;
  • Film Selection: Support in selecting and curating films for The World Forum and its screenings.


These responsibilities encompass a diverse range of tasks and will contribute to the successful execution of The World Forum.


The ideal candidate has:


  • Educational background in fields such as Film, Human Rights, International Relations, International Law, Project Management or related areas;
  • A genuine passion and strong interest in subjects related to film, art, international conflicts, human rights, climate change and various socio-political and humanitarian issues;
  • Previous basic experience in working with international organizations, non-governmental organizations, civil society organizations or film-related entities;
  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of other languages, particularly German, is considered an advantage;
  • Demonstrated proactive and innovative mindset, a willingness to think creatively, a readiness to go the extra mile and a problem-solving approach;
  • Residence in Berlin is an advantage.


This volunteer position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 9:00 to 18:00.


The remuneration for this position is 520 EUR + BVG ticket.
