A highly-regarded Primary School in Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a dedicated and skilled graduate to join their inclusion team as an Autism Support Assistant, starting from September 2024 through to July 2025.

This role is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with KS1 and KS2 students on a 1:1 or small-group basis, providing essential support in their educational and social development.

As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:
  • Offer one-on-one support to individuals with autism in various environments, including schools, homes, and community settings.
  • Assist in designing and implementing tailored strategies and interventions to enhance communication, social interaction, and independence.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, educators, and therapists to ensure a well-rounded and effective support approach.
  • Support individuals with autism in managing daily routines, including personal care, leisure activities, and educational tasks.
  • Track and monitor progress, documenting observations to guide ongoing interventions and support plans.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • A First-Class or 2:1 degree, preferably in Psychology or a related field.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people who need additional support to thrive in their education and social development.
  • Ideally, previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs.
  • A proactive, positive attitude, with a commitment to meeting the diverse learning needs of children.
  • The ability to build strong rapport with children.
