Role: Teaching Assistant

Location: Hounslow

Salary: £95 - £110 per day (depending on experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday (08:30 16:30)

Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

Our dedicated, Specialist school provides exceptional education for children aged 3 to 11 with severe or profound multiple learning difficulties. Many of our pupils also have an additional diagnosis of autism.

We offer a nurturing and inclusive environment, tailored to our pupils unique needs. We are currently seeking an empathetic, kind and committed Teaching Assistant to join our team as soon as possible.

Teaching Assistant - Person Specification

Prior experience as a Teaching Assistant in a SEN School would be highly advantageous

Experience working with or caring for school-age children is essential

Good numeracy, literacy, and IT skills.

GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths.

NVQ 2 in supporting teaching and learning in the classroom (or equivalent/higher qualification) or willingness to undertake this qualification.

Ability to relate well to children and adults.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities.

Ability to work successfully with pupils who have special educational needs, including behaviour support needs.

Proficient in using basic technology (e.g., computer, video, photocopier)

Teaching Assistant - Job Description

Attend to personal needs and implement related programs (social, health, physical, behavioural, hygiene, first aid, medical, welfare).

Supervise and support pupils, ensuring safety and access to learning.

Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

Promote inclusion and acceptance of all pupils.

Encourage pupil interaction and independence.

Prepare and clear the classroom as directed.

Report pupil progress and issues to the teacher.

Maintain pupil records.

Assist in managing pupil behaviour.

Provide clerical/admin support (e.g., photocopying, typing, filing).

Support the school's ethos, work, and aims.
