Job Description
Sauk Valley Community College seeks innovative individual for a part-time support position as a Maintenance Technician.
FUNCTION OF THE JOB:
Perform a variety of activities involved in maintaining a high standard of appearance of Sauk Valley Community College buildings and grounds.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform a variety of activities relative to repair and maintenance of all aspects of the physical plant.
2. Adhere to College safety program and perform work in a safe, professional manner.
3. Perform minor remodeling, redecorating, or other repair and maintenance activities such as painting,
carpentry, caulking and sealing, drywall repair, flooring, repair to hard surfaces like cement, furniture
repair and assembly, installing shelves and the like as assigned.
4. Assist in minor mechanical maintenance such as faucet and toilet repair, replacement of light bulbs,
filter changes and other Facilities functions as assigned.
5. Perform custodial activities such as cleaning, trash pickup, moving furniture, etc.
6. Assume all other reasonable duties as assigned by supervisor.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school or GED required. Basic knowledge of general maintenance, custodial, and grounds work is required.
