Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

The Head of Marketing will be a key member of the Umiami leadership team. This role will be responsible for leading and implementing the marketing strategy and tactics in the food service/B2B and retail channels for the European and North American markets, in partnership with the Umiami global team. Umiami has recently invested in a significant rebrand including a new brand name, positioning strategy, and an entirely new visual identity. The Head of Marketing will serve as a key partner in revenue growth and activation for the new brand, and the custodian of long-term brand development.


Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Partner with the Sales team in Europe and North America to drive strong revenue growth and distribution in B2B / food service and retail channels through marketing activation and co-branding.
  • Collaborate and lead the global marketing team to ensure strategic alignment of objectives, while customizing approach to the unique needs of each market.
  • Lead and develop the 2025 marketing activation plan to drive customer growth through compelling selling materials, branded POS, sampling, trade show presence, digital and consumer pull activities.
  • Build a world class marketing team in support of a strong branded presence in foodservice channels, and the long-term development of a bold and engaging consumer brand.
  • Lead and develop the global PR and media strategy and tactics, ensuring harmony between European and North American efforts.
  • Lead and develop the digital strategy for Europe and North America including website, social media, SEO/SEA, and customer and consumer journey mapping and data collection.
  • Implement ecommerce strategy on existing shopify platform starting in North America and expanding to other priority markets, with the goal of making it easy for customers and chefs to buy our products anywhere.
  • Lead and manage all agency engagement in development and delivery of the plan.
  • Work closely with Regulatory and Legal to ensure product and communication comply with local regulations across the countries where we’re sold.
  • Develop and manage overall marketing budget, ensuring targeted, thoughtful spending on high-ROI programs across Europe and North America.
  • Lead market research and competitive monitoring to ensure a deep understanding of our customers, consumers and brand.
  • Lead internal communications to unite the team and instill brand values throughout the organization.


Professional Qualifications

  • A seasoned marketer with food experience and a demonstrated ability to lead a high-performing marketing team. Experience with Foodservice/B2B marketing required. Retail experience a plus. Food tech or emerging brand experience also a plus.
  • A results-oriented marketing leader with a proven track record of partnering with Sales to drive revenue, building brand loyalty and engagement, with a continuous improvement mind-set.
  • Digital experience building comprehensive tactics to engage with customers, consumers and internal partners.
  • Strong communication skills and the demonstrated ability to partner across multiple cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent project management skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results on-time and on-budget.
  • Experience in developing and managing a comprehensive marketing budget.
