As an Autism Support Assistant, you will:
- Offer one-on-one support to individuals with autism in various environments, including schools, homes, and community settings.
- Assist in designing and implementing tailored strategies and interventions to enhance communication, social interaction, and independence.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychologists, educators, and therapists to ensure a well-rounded and effective support approach.
- Support individuals with autism in managing daily routines, including personal care, leisure activities, and educational tasks.
- Track and monitor progress, documenting observations to guide ongoing interventions and support plans.
- A First-Class or 2:1 degree, preferably in Psychology or a related field.
- A genuine passion for working with young people who need additional support to thrive in their education and social development.
- Ideally, previous experience (formal or informal) supporting children with autism or other special educational needs.
- A proactive, positive attitude, with a commitment to meeting the diverse learning needs of children.
- The ability to build strong rapport with children.
