Supervise operational, clinical responsibilities and fiscal responsibilities for outpatient rehabilitation services for the Orleans Outpatient Department. Participate in quality improvement and program development activities. Provide consultative services to therapists to achieve stated goals for performance. Participate in development and assurance of general and program specific competencies as it relates to the patient population served. - Team members are oriented, mentored and supported to achieve stated goals for performance. Performance evaluations are completed accurately and timely in accordance with organization standards. - Provide patient care as per Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech Language Pathologist job description. - Therapists are mentored to achieve professional standards of practice per network and facility policies and procedures - Academic roles and research are fostered within the rehabilitation team - Patient satisfaction and productivity goals are managed and achieved. Gaps are identified and improvement plans are put in place. - Patients, visitors, and other health care professionals in the community are educated to the role of the physical therapist and in particular as it relates to the specific programs - Program evaluation, utilization review and quality improvement studies are supervised and action plans implemented. - Strategic planning input is provided to achieve department and organizational goals. - Overall educational needs of staff are identified and priorities are determined and implemented. - Program based marketing plan is developed with key stakeholders, routinely evaluated, and improved. - Additional department, organization or network activities are completed per established objectives. - PCC Organizational Values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence are upheld. Education/Degree - Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or SLP program. - BLS required. Experience - Three years of diverse and well-rounded clinical experience preferably concentrated within the clinical specialties of the program. - Previous supervisory experience in one of the following capacities: supervisor, clinical instructor or supervisor of therapy aides/assistants under the guidance of a therapist supervisor. Licensure - Current license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts by the Board of Allied Health Professions. Skills (Specific learned activity gained through training (e.g. computer skills, keyboarding, presentation, CPR, ACLS, etc.) Required - Participated in activities which would require application of leadership skills, specifically interactive team building. - Safely execute all job responsibilities without risking injury to self or patients. Demonstrates the ability to assess and interact with patients and families using the theories of human growth and development, family systems, and cultural background. - Knowledge and skill to evaluate adults and geriatric patients. - Problem solving skills for treatment planning and execution taking into consideration patient’s age, psychosocial, and cultural background. - Demonstrate advanced skills in teaching others and self assessment of learning needs, strengths, and professional goals. - Computer proficiency required. Microsoft office applications preferred with ability to learn new software. Preferred - Highly developed communications and interpersonal skills, working with diverse population. - Work independently, be self-directed and contribute as a member of a team. - Anticipates challenges and develops and implements strategies for addressing them. - High level of service delivery. Demonstrate initiative with ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and adapt to changing situations. - Attention to detail.
