Full Time 37 hours per week

About the Role:
As the Senior Manager for Employment and Skills, you will lead and deliver a range of innovative programmes aimed at enhancing skills, employment, careers, and inclusion across Devon. You will work closely with a diverse mix of partners and stakeholders, from local businesses to national government departments, ensuring that our community thrives in a dynamic and evolving economic landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

* Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to address labour market needs, gaps, and future requirements.

* Programme Management: Oversee adult community learning and post-16 education services, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and achieving quality employment outcomes.

* Policy Monitoring and Advice: Stay abreast of changes in national and statutory policy environments related to Devolution, Growth, Skills, and Education agendas. Provide expert advice to the Directorate, Senior Leadership team, Elected Members, Business Leaders, MPs, and strategic partners.

* Partnership Building: Foster strong relationships with education providers, employers, and other key stakeholders to enhance employability outcomes for both adults and young people.

* Financial Oversight: Manage significant budgets and ensure the financial sustainability of our programmes.

What We’re Looking For:

* A degree in a relevant discipline (education, economic development, programme management).

* Extensive experience in leading multi-agency skills and employment programmes.

* Strong knowledge of the growth, education, and skills policy environment.

* Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
