Together, we can continue to help children grow by Leaps & Bounds!Essential FunctionsPhysical Therapist performs assessments and interpretation of evaluations and test results; determining physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription and carrying out a treatment plan that supports functional improvement across the lifespan.Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results; determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.Help patient accomplish goals outlined in treatment plan and effective use of therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instructing, encouraging, and assisting patients in performing physical activities, such as nonmanual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, and daily-living activities and in using assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.Administer physical therapy treatment by applying physical agents, electrical stimulation, directing treatments given by assistants, and aids.Evaluate effects of physical therapy treatments and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contributing to patient care conferences.Assure continuation of therapeutic plan following discharge by designing home exercise programs; instructing patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommending and/or providing assistive equipment; recommending outpatient or home health follow-up programs.Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.Maintain patient confidence and protects clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.Develop physical therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, but providing these services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.The compensation range varies based on experience: $40.00-$50.00/hrRequirements Possess a valid California PT LicensePediatric experience a plus!Clear LivescanTB TestCPR Healthcare Provider CardAvailability until 7pm during weekdaysAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentFlexibilityBe a Strong-Team PlayerHave a desire to continue to grow as a professionalRegularly stand, bend, stoop, lift and move intermittently during shiftMust be able to lift up to 50lbs.Push or pull wheeled items over 100lbs.Check out our social media and see all the fun things we do: https://www.instagram.com/leapspedstherapy/
