Registered Nurse OPWDD - Healy I & II

A health services organization in New York City is looking to add a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to one of their group homes in Queens. About the Opportunity: Start Date: ASAP Setting: Group Home Assignment Length: OngoingSchedule: Monday to Friday Hours: 9am to 5pm (21 hours per week) Patient Population: Medically underserved Patient Volume: 10 to 12 patients EMR: PrecisonCare Responsibilities: The Registered Nurse (RN) will: Coordinate annual and routine medical services to ensure all healthcare records are up to date and include all regulations as mandated by OPWDD Supervise AMAP staff in aspects of medication administration and documentation Be on call 24 hours a day to provide phone triage for consultation on all medical needs of the individuals served Serve as a liaison to both the families and the residential staff regarding their medical concerns regarding individual residents Provide in-service training to the residential staff Participate in the Program Planning Team process Complete all written reports and documentation on a timely basis so that all agency, state and federal regulations are maintained residential compliance Report all incidents, including allegations of abuse and neglect and serious reportable incidents, to management immediately upon discoveryPerform all other duties, as assigned. Qualifications: 1+ year of Nursing experience Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license Solid assessment, clinical, and documentation skills Patient oriented Great interpersonal skills Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Strong attention to detail Highly organized Desired Skills: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Prior Nursing experience and/or experience working with persons with Developmental Disabilities
