Job DetailsOR RN - Specialty in Urology/GYN. Expected to work in a large, fast-paced OR environment.Responsible for circulating and participating in surgeries, with some scrubbing experience to hold retraction as second scrub preferred.Travelers are usually submitted for a specific team at the main campus, such as ortho team, neuro team, or urology team.Travelers may float between specialities within their skill set.For the general team, experience with davinci robots is required. For the urology team, robot experience is preferred. Ortho team should be comfortable with total joints.
Job Requirements2 years of OR experience required.Need to have experience in a large, fast-paced OR.Must be self-motivated and self-directed.BLS certification is a must, and ACLS is preferred for floating purposes.
Schedule Information10-hour day shifts with a 0645 start time are standard, with the option to do 12-hour shifts.Variable day off according to the needs of the department.Schedules are determined by the manager and are published 4-6 weeks in advance.Weeknight call requirement entails 1 night a week, with additional weekend and holiday call requirements depending on the team assignment.The call response time is 30 minutes.
Unit Specific InformationMain OR has 18 suites, Outpatient has 6 (Cardiac is staffed separately).The OR handles 50-60 cases per day on average, and 70-80 during busy times.Travelers should expect to be in back-to-back cases, this is a very busy OR.Floating requirements include moving between inpatient and outpatient departments, with occasional travel to Women's or Healthwest facilities.
Additional DetailsMost staff are extended to a one-year commitment.Travelers are treated like part of the team and can expect great teamwork on the unit.Travelers can volunteer to take low census standby.
