Echo Technician Full Time

Job Summary:

The Echo Technician will use equipment to create images using high frequency sound waves into specific areas of the patient's body to obtain cardiovascular diagnostic information.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform pediatric echocardiograms and transmit for review.
• Integrate patient history, medical record documentation, & lab results to adapt sonographic exam as necessary.
• Evaluate, synthesize, and communicate preliminary findings to the pediatric cardiologist, fellows and nurse practitioners as appropriate.
• Perform all measurements and calculations necessary for each exam per ICAEL recommendations.
• Conduct laboratory duties as assigned.
• Maintain records for daily operations and assist in maintenance of documentation related to ICAEL certification/re-certification.
• Educate patients, students, fellows and new technicians in all aspects of echocardiography.
• Participate in staff meetings, research studies, quality assurance activities and working groups. Cooperate and assist in obtaining institutional, divisional and departmental initiatives and goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualification:

• HS Diploma or equivalent in education, training and experience in a clinical practice required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography from an accredited college preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Program.
• Candidate must be ARDMS certified or ARDMS registry eligible. ARDMS eligible graduates from CAAHEP (Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education) accredited program must be registered in OB/GYN within 12 months of employment.
• ARDMS credentials must be maintained yearly.
• 1 or more years of experience as a dedicated pediatric cardiac sonography preferred.
• Excellent oral/written communication skills, strong customer service background as well as proficiency in computers.
• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently, evaluate sonogram to acquire diagnostic information, communicate diagnostic information to physicians, follow departmental protocols and guidelines, and communicate effectively with patients and health care team.

Hourly Rate Ranges: $37.50 - $59.62

Note: Our salary offers will fall within these ranges based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, skill set, training and education.
