INFRASTRUCTURE DEBT JUNIOR ANALYST

The Company

Rivage Investment is a Asset Management Company established in Paris, authorised with the Autorité des Marchés Financiers (French market authority). Rivage has successfully launched an infrastructure and public sector finance debt platform and manages assets of close to 8 billion euros (across 20 funds) on behalf of institutional clients (mostly European insurance companies).

Rivage Investment is now backed by Axa IM Prime and is a major player in the infrastructure debt sector. It continues to grow developing new products that respond to the needs of investors.

Background

Until recently the project finance debt market was exclusively a bank market. However new regulatory capital constraints are affecting banks’ capacity to provide long term financing to project finance sectors such as infrastructure and energy. At the same time real money investors such as insurance companies and pension funds are seeking to invest into project finance debt as it delivers long term stable cash-flows with yields superior to government bonds. Some institutional like insurance companies invest in funds which invest in project finance debt on their behalf.

Internship description

The candidate will support the front office team. The team is investing in European infrastructure debt for Rivage’s investment funds. The intern will have the opportunity to:

• Participate in the screening of investment opportunities in diverse infrastructure related sectors such as energy transition, decarbonation, new mobility, healthcare and social
• Assist the team in the preparation of memos for screening committees
• Financial analysis: perform business and financial due diligence, use financial models to perform sensitivity analysis
• Participate in the credit approval process of new investments and assist the team in the execution of transactions (redaction of credit notes, review of technical and legal due diligences, ESG topics)
• Collaboration with other Rivage’s team (ESG, middle office, investor relations)
• Contribute to the debt platform development (data computing and research, advanced modelling tools …)
• Participate to the annual credit reviews of portfolio transactions
• Industry research: in-depth research for industry trends, news flow, emerging themes notably linked to Energy transition, Decarbonation and New Mobility

Candidate profile

The successful candidate must:

1. Be in a Master’s degree course from a leading engineering/business school or university, or ideally a double Master’s degree in either one of the following academic fields: engineering, project finance, corporate and business law. Undergraduate applications will not be considered
2. Be fluent in English and French (written and spoken). Fluency in another language is a plus
3. Have good analytical and modelling skills, as well as excellent writing, communication and presentation skills
4. Interest in infrastructure sector and energy transition challenges
5. Be hardworking, team player and super nice :)
