Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologist (Neurophysiology)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Highly Specialised Clinical Physiologists to join our friendly Neurophysiology team providing specialist investigations to patients of all ages, from a range of specialties suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders including those which may be neurological and/or psychiatric in nature.



Main duties of the job



We are looking for enthusiastic Clinical Physiologists and team players to join our busy department. Applications are invited from experienced physiologists and would be well suited to individuals looking to advance their career in Neurophysiology and gain experience in a wide range of diagnostic investigations.



The dept. provides routine, sleep deprived and portable EEG's on patients of all ages, Multi-modality Evoked Potentials, Nerve Conduction Studies, Video-Telemetry (Ward and Home). Epilepsy Surgery is also performed within Neurosciences.



The Neurophysiology Dept. is a busy, friendly team which consists of 5 Consultant Neurophysiologists, 6 Physiologists, a Health Care Assistant and 2 Medical Secretaries.



Physiologists are encouraged to continue their own professional development. There are excellent academic opportunities in the London area. Candidates should have a minimum of ECNE Board Part1/BSc Hon Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent and appropriate post graduate experience and RCCP Registration.

Qualifications

Essential

• BSc (Hons) Clinical Physiology (Neurophysiology) or equivalent formal specialist training


• Other appropriate qualifications e.g. BTEC HNC/D in MPPM / or equivalent experience + professional exam ECNE Part I


• knowledge of specialist procedures acquired through specialist/management courses or training/experience to advanced level RCCP registration

Desirable

• Training & Assessing qualification


• ECNE Part II.


• MSc or equivalent.

Experience

Essential

• Appropriate post qualification experience.


• Practical experience and familiarity with the range of basic and advanced


• Neurophysiological Investigations.

Desirable

• Supervisory experience Management experience

Skills

Essential

• Ability to perform a wide range of Neurophysiological investigations


• have the highest level of specialist skills and knowledge within the relevant field.


• Able to interpret specialist Neurophysiological investigation results and patient conditions.


• Knowledge of Intraoperative monitoring
