Seated Yoga Volunteer

Volunteer Lead: Physiotherapist
Based at: The Norfolk Hospice Tapping House
Hours: 2-3 hours a week

Summary and purpose of the seated yoga class

This Role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check.

Key Responsibilities of the volunteer

1. To work with the Physiotherapist to plan and run a weekly seated yoga class for patients


2. To encourage participants to actively engage in their seated yoga programme, providing the appropriate level of support as required.


3. To understand the importance of personal and professional boundaries


4. To attend all mandatory training as required


5. Recognise risk of vulnerable individuals, and report any safeguarding concerns directly to the Therapy Lead or Team Lead as quickly as possible.


6. To report any concerns you may have regarding someone’s safety during the session.

Personal Responsibilities

1. To seek help and support when needed


2. Participate in mandatory training and attend any courses that may be relevant


3. Attend volunteer meetings and sessions whenever possible


4. To act within scope of your volunteering role at all times


5. To share comments or concerns in a timely way to promote early resolution

Qualifications
