Description

We are recruiting a Service Manager—adult Access for a local government client in Merseyside. This role is crucial in providing leadership to all social care and allied health professional staff, working to high professional and managerial standards, and enabling staff and teams to function effectively and in line with local priorities and the City Plan.

Responsibility

Responsible for the operational leadership and management and the quality of care and support delivered within a specified locality or service area. This may include management of a range of services, including bed-based, community resources, Occupational Therapy and Assessment and Care Management services.

Qualification – Essential

* GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics.

* Educated to degree level or equivalent

* Management Qualification is desirable

* Social Work or equivalent professional qualification and registration with a relevant regulatory body

* Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting

* Demonstrated operational service delivery management expertise

* Experience in budget management

* Experience in developing and implementing strategies and programmes, including the development of business and delivery plans

* Demonstrable track record of change management leading to improved outcomes

* Demonstrable experience in working within a complex set of multi-agency partnerships

* Experience in process analysis and the creation of new processes

* Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills

* Experience in problem-solving/conflict resolution

* Ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

* Ability to deal with difficult situations and challenging existing practices

* Highly developed communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

* Demonstrable professional approach and positive attitude, with problem-solving skills

* Demonstrable financial management skills

* Able to manage and motivate an effective team, empowering others and encouraging accountability, including target setting and staff development to meet targets

* Fully conversant with the requirements of relevant legislation governing adult social care

* Treating people with dignity and respect encourages honesty, trust and respect in relationships.

* Ability to articulate complex issues and communicate effectively

* Excellent negotiating and influencing skills

* Good organisational skills, ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

Essential Compliance Requirements

* 2 Years References

* Enhanced satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service
