Shift Schedule: Monday-Wednesday: 8AM-4PM
Hours Per Week: 21

Internship Duration: Up to three months

The location of the internship will be a combination from our main office in Midtown and potential assignments that will require visiting our Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Far Rockaway properties.

Internship Overview:

The Housing Construction Manager Intern will assist the JASA Housing Management team in various tasks and projects in the areas of construction, renovation, facility management, analytics, reporting, inspections, and other management functions. This role offers exposure to all facets of construction and facility management, providing a comprehensive understanding of residential renovations and facility functions and operations within a dynamic organizational setting.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with construction site inspections and daily reporting.
  • Assist in maintaining contract drawings using AutoCAD to reflect change orders and field change directives.
  • Assist in reviewing construction drawings and requests for information.
  • Assist with the preparation of spreadsheets for cost estimates, quantity takeoffs, and budget analysis.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders.
  • Work on a variety of office and field assignments.
  • Assist with various organization audits.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or Master's program with a focus on Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in construction or facility management (preferred).
  • Previous experience in administrative work and/or data entry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
