Primary Purpose:
Under direct supervision provide reception and clerical assistance for the efficient operation of the central administration office.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding skills, word processing, and file maintenance
Effective organization, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to operate multi-line phone system
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets and databases, using Word and Excel
Bilingual Preferred
Experience:
One-year clerical experience in office setting
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception and Phones
Personal computer, printer, calculator, copier, and fax machine.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress.Repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer.

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Reception and Phones
- Receive and direct incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
- Greet and direct visitors to central administration office.
- Assist public, staff, and students as needed.
- Prepare correspondence, forms, reports, etc., for the department head and other department staff.
- Update employee handbook based on TASB recommendations each year.
- Compile pertinent data as needed when preparing various state and local reports.
- Maintain physical and computerized departmental files.
- Assist with district criminal history checks with the DPS site.
- Enter I-9 information into Attorney General website.
- Maintain computerized files using personal computer including reports, employee roster, and mailing list.
- Sort, distribute, or deliver mail, messages, and other documents.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
