Position Summary
The Coordinator for Community-Based Medical Education will support the Office of Education and the Assistant Dean for Community-Based Medical Education by coordinating the appointment, review, and promotion process of Voluntary Teaching Faculty, and supporting activities and programs aimed at strengthening and recognizing the efforts of the Voluntary Teaching Faculty at Washington University School of Medicine. This role involves collaborating with various educational leaders within the Office of Education, Departments within the School of Medicine, and external entities.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Administrative and Project Support
  • Provides general administrative support for the unit, including managing communication between teams, units, departments, and external entities.
  • Maintains records, documents, and provides full project/activity support for the voluntary teaching faculty unit, including maintenance and ongoing support of voluntary faculty profiles in Interfolio.
  • Performs administrative duties of a complex and confidential nature in support of the Voluntary Faculty Office and in support of the Assistant Dean for Community-Based Medical Education.
  • Assists with the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials.
Faculty Recruitment and Development
  • Participates in the identification and recruitment of voluntary teaching faculty.
  • Supports the application process and biennial review of voluntary teaching faculty in collaboration with course/program leads.
  • Participates in the process for recommending promotions based on faculty commitment and performance.
  • Supports the development and distribution of appropriate rewards for voluntary faculty members.
Process Coordination and Compliance
  • Supports efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and streamline voluntary faculty appointments, reviews, and promotion processes at the School of Medicine.
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with School of Medicine policies and procedures among voluntary faculty members, providing support and escalating as needed.
  • Assists in the development of procedures for decision-making on specific operating problems, providing consultation in accordance with departmental precedents and policies.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range
$23.37 - $36.19 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
