Job Description

Summary of Position:

The Advisor, Facilities Engineer - Development is responsible for planning production facility infrastructure and scoping associated projects for Permian Basin development and communicating the plan to multidisciplinary development and execution teams. This position is responsible for new facility/pipeline planning and expansion of existing facility/pipeline infrastructure which may require retrofit to accommodate wedge production and comply with new standards. This team will engage closely with the facility engineering team as well as providing direction and guidance for adjacent phases. The incumbent will be tasked with working closely with the development team on multiple projects based on business needs and activity established by the drill schedule. The engineer will ensure projects are moved forward by resolving obstacles and facilitating the readiness and optimization of oil, water, gas infrastructure for all new wells drilled across the Permian Basin.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

* Facilitates stakeholder engagement in the creation of and alignment to the development plan and budget with the surface facilities plan.
* Responsible for coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to discern optimal facilities placement and routing in accordance with the overall facilities development plan.
* Understands surface and mineral land considerations as it relates to timing and feasibility of activities such as commingling and ROW.
* Carries out advanced planning of capital projects and feasibility studies based on various facility designs and development scenarios.
* Develop monthly/quarterly/yearly budgets through project scoping exercises.
* Review cost model inputs with budgeting and planning teams to ensure accurate capital forecasts and outlooks.
* Supports post-appraisal conversations and generates project reviews.
* Responsible for timely coordination of budget/forecast submissions for capital, production, and LOE.
* Prepares basis of design for capital projects to clearly define "what is to be built or expanded".
* Provides scoping and engineering reviews to engineering and execution teams when needed.
* Works closely with midstream and marketing to understand oil, water and gas takeaway.
* Interfaces with power infrastructure team in the field and office to align facility and AL needs with available or possibly available infrastructure.
* Provides on-site interpretation of engineering intent to field personnel engaged in construction of projects.
* Evaluates current facility/pipeline designs and provides recommendations for enhancements to improve productivity, economics and/or regulatory compliance.
* Leads efforts to meet current and future air regulations with focus on capturing economic emissions and frequent collaboration with the Regulatory department.
* Works closely with air team and prod ops team to align on existing and upcoming regulatory pressure that impact facility designs.
* Partners with EHS&R on process safety management and assures all current/future midstream assets are within applicable standards and regulations.
* Provides expertise on any future gathering or processing facilities needed.
* Provides timely completion of assigned projects.
* Performs all other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

* Advanced understanding of Oil and Gas operations, including processes, process control schemes, equipment, sizing, methods of documentation (P&IDs, PFDs, electrical drawings, etc.), and typical roles and responsibilities.
* Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations as well as best practices with a strong emphasis on process safety.
* Strong business acumen and cost engineering skills.
* Positive attitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong attention to detail.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment managing multiple priorities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Strong teamwork skills to manage multiple projects across different functional groups.
* Comfortable providing onsite support to facilities, from construction phase to operation.
* Demonstrated ability to apply engineering principles and techniques to the design of new equipment and troubleshooting of existing equipment.
* Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* Vendor management experience.

Education & Experience:

* Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Civil or Petroleum Engineering required.
* Minimum 12+ years relevant Oil and Gas engineering experience.

Travel Requirements:

* Work is performed at a CIVI location Tues-Thurs with an option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays, as business needs allow and with manager approval. This schedule is highly variable and is determined by current project status.
* Schedule: traditional 40-hour workweek or alternative schedule of 9 hour works days M-Thurs and 4-hour workdays Friday, as business needs allow and with manager approval.
* Travel required to the Civitas field locations.
