Job title: FLT Driver/ Production operative
Location: Suffolk
Job type: Perm
Working hours: Night Shift (37 hours per week): Monday to Thursday (22:00 – 06:00) Friday (19:00 – 00:00)
Salary: £27,750 – £37,850 per annum
Overtime: overtime available at time and a half, after 40 hours

Ristara Engineering is working in partnership with a leading manufacturer within the steel industry and are currently recruiting for FLT Driver to work within a fantastic company based in Suffolk. Working as part of a team of operators to process customer orders to specifications using a selection of manual machinery.
Due to the nature of the market our client supplies into, all candidates must be UK residents, and DBS checks (disclosure & barring service) may be required. Please also note at this time we do not offer visa sponsorship for overseas candidates.
Responsibilities and Duties are required for the FLT operator/ Production operative role:
* Operating a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing
* Processing steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances. Working within the company’s quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders
* Understanding how to read drawings, orders and following verbal instructions, being available to train others in this area
* Operate forklifts, CombiLifts and the crane safely and in a controlled manner
* Ensuring daily checks are performed on your equipment, crane and forklift/CombiLift, these are to be carried out before you start your shift
* Collating aforementioned orders, including banding, palletising, bagging and preparing them for loading
* Loading and offloading of plate and parts from the plasma and laser machines
* Identifying and locating different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment
* Keeping machines and work areas clean and tidy
* Reporting any accidents and incidents to the HS&E Manager
* Reporting any machine faults/breakdowns to the Production Supervisor or Maintenance
Qualifications and Skills are required for the FLT driver/ Production operator role:
An Apprenticeship or equivalent City & Guilds qualification is desirable.
