Our Client is a leading, international multidisciplinary consultancy for the built environment with a strong commitment to sustainability. They specialize in building design and operation and environmental and sustainability consulting. Having successfully traded for more than 40 years and with a portfolio of work that includes some of the most prestigious projects in the hottest construction markets, they are proud to develop innovative, sustainable, environmentally friendly, and energy-efficient solutions. As they have tremendous plans for the expansion of the Sustainability team, they are looking for an experienced LCA Sustainability Consultant (Life Cycle Analyst & Circular Economy) to join their team and be based at the Manchester office and contribute to innovative projects.

Location: Manchester City Centre

Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 depending on experience and skills

Employment type: Permanent

Purpose of the Role:

As an LCA Sustainability Consultant, you’ll share and provide knowledge and expertise in sustainable design to whole-life carbon assessments and circular economy statements for new build, fit and refurb projects for the public and private sectors. As part of a multidisciplinary sustainability team, you will be providing broad and extensive design solutions to prestigious clients.

Key Responsibilities

* Undertake Whole Life Carbon (WLC) Calculations for BREEAM Mat 01 and for GLA referable schemes.

* Prepare reports for Planning Submissions.

* Prepare reports and presentations for non technical team members and clients.

* Support calculations for Embodied Carbon, for varying projects including.

* Support the wider team with project delivery, including preparing Green House Gas Reports, Climate Change Adaptation Sustainability Statements, and Compliance Statements.

* Support the MEP design consultants, on delivering their design strategy with regards to optioneering, and Whole Life Carbon.

* Support management and training of staff on lower grades.

* Undertake QA of other WLC around building energy demand reduction and compliance.

* Produce accurate, professionally written reports and statements with excellent English, clearly communicating your work to clients and stakeholders.

* Contribute to internal and external design team meetings with the required level of technical understanding to help direct design decisions regarding carbon savings and appropriate roots in the Circular Economy.

Essential Skills and Experience:

* A minimum of 3-5 years of experience working in UK based Consultancy or Design & Build Contractor

* Experience & Knowledge of BREEAM, WELL & LEED and Circular Economy.

* Bachelor’s degree in engineering or the Built Environment.

* You will have achieved or be working towards chartership status.

* A strong desire to communicate and work collaboratively with others.

* Confident in handling new or unfamiliar technical issues and independently generating and developing ideas.

* Excellent interpersonal communication skills with attention to detail
