Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This position is for a IT Specialist (CustSpt), PD# D2182P01 located at the 116h Communications Squadron on Robins AFB, Georgia. This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Air National Guard Membership. Area of Consideration: Current onboard Federal Employees/Technicians within the 116th Communications Squadron. Responsibilities As an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT), GS-2210-11, you will: Manage the assigned IT/communications environment with privileged access at the network level for the Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Develop, recommend, and install solutions and upgrades to ensure availability, integrity, efficiency, and reliability of all components of the assigned system. Serve as a focal point for ensuring functionality and operability of the assigned IT/data systems/functions, voice and wireless systems to support mission requirements of Wing, Geographically Separated Units (GSU), and Tenants. Provide ongoing technical support to customers to ensure proper functional use of equipment and programs and to preclude undue interruptions to IT and communications services. Determine customer requirements and assists customers by recognizing and analyzing trends and providing instruction and orientation services. Install, maintain, and repair hardware devices supporting a broad range of information and communications systems. Review and validate radio frequency allocations. Provide spectrum management guidance to units deploying equipment in support of contingency, exercise, or wartime requirements. Participate with operating officials, system users, and others in progress review of established systems to determine the reliability, productivity, and user friendliness of the existing system hardware and software. Coordinate efforts between system customers, system support personnel and commercial vendors to identify and resolve hardware, software, and other system anomalies. Maintain records of analyses, tests, and the techniques and procedures applied in problem resolution to establish a record of activities for future use. Performs other duties as assigned. Military Grades: E5-E6 Compatible Military Assignments: AFSC: 1D771R, 1D771Q General Experience: Must possess experience that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems. Specialized Experience: Candidate must have 36 months specialized experience that approaches techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Experience planning the sequence of actions necessary to accomplish the assignment where this entailed coordination with others outside the organizational unit and development of project controls. Experience that required adaptations of guidelines or precedents to meet the needs of the assignment. Experience preparing documentation on cost/benefit studies where is involved summarizing the material and organizing it in a logical fashion. Education Additional Information If you are a male applicant who was born after 12/31/1959 and are required to register under the Military Selective Service Act, the Defense Authorization Act of 1986 requires that you be registered or you are not eligible for appointment in this agency (https://www.sss.gov/RegVer/wfRegistration.aspx). Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.
