Job Summary


Looking for a hard-working Printer Fleet Support Specialist, with the ability to multitask, and work independently. The best candidate would have a basic understanding of Printer, Multi-Function Printer and Multi-Function Device knowledge in stocking paper trays, refilling toner and waste containers, checking device functionality, and reporting issues to the appropriate party. This role would be responsible for the delivery of toner and other copier supplies to a small printer fleet spread out on the University of Utah campus. This role will be available to answer and assist with service requests for printer consumables as needed. This role will be lifting 50lbs paper boxes daily as well as transporting other consumables. Must be capable and willing to drive university vehicles (small trucks and/or golf carts) to assigned locations to perform tasks. The best candidate would have a comprehensive knowledge of the campus and the various buildings / departments.


Responsibilities




  • Monitors all facets of the small fleet consumables (paper, toner, staples etc.) to ensure that standards are maintained, and client requirements (contracted service levels) are consistently met.




  • Engages supervisor and third-party resources to prevent problems, as well as to remedy problems as they occur.




  • Monitors and manages inventory and supplies for fleet consumables, including submission of new orders for low inventory supplies.




  • May be asked to assist periodically with collecting meter readings from devices, displaying updated signs at these locations and maintaining the overall appearance of the fleet.




  • Uses the fleet monitoring software to track and respond to alerts of low toner notifications, paper levels etc.




  • Acts as an advocate for the customer in all matters concerning the fleet, reporting and other support as required.




  • Supports the Managed Print Services Manager




  • Performs other duties as assigned by Managed Print Services Manager.




Minimum Qualifications


Must be a current University of Utah student.


High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required


Preferences




  • Prior experience supporting & managing copier fleets




  • Basic Printer, Multi-Function Printer and Multi-Function Device knowledge




  • Knowledge of campus layout & departments

Working Conditions and Demands




  • Typically checks-in daily at an office environment and would then spend majority of the time traveling to various buildings and locations on the University of Utah campus. Must be willing to travel in all-weather situations.




  • Requires internal contact with various University of Utah departments, students, faculty/staff and external contact with vendors for supplies etc.




  • Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that weigh up to 50 lbs. (e.g., paper boxes, toner, toner waste bins and small parts, etc.)




  • Requires moderate dexterity – regular application of basic skills (calculator, keyboard, hand tools, and eye/hand coordination)
