Job Description

Companies can’t handle their contracts. Their obligations, risks and liabilities are trapped in PDFs and Word Documents — designed to be read by humans, one-at-a-time, in files and folders. These contracts are critical, yet most companies don’t know how many they have, never mind what’s in them.

Our service is simple: give us your contracts, and we’ll organise them into a verifiably accurate online database. That’s it.

Underneath, it’s a little more sophisticated: our team of in-house Document Programmers use bespoke tooling to help them organise contracts, capture information and encode relationships. Our organisation-specific schema allows us to build tailored databases for our customers. And we distil documents down to their text and structure, whether it’s a digital PDF or a scan-of-a-scan of a handwritten Portuguese lease from the 1800s.

Our customers love us, and we’re profitable. But we want to do more — which is where you come in.

We need YOU to enable our Founder & CEO Josh to operate in his Zone of Genius. Every. Single. Day.

Your job is to partner with our Founder and CEO Josh across every part of Nomio to enable him to scale as the company does. When he operates in his ‘Zone of Genius’, magic happens. You’ll be doing whatever it takes to free him from distractions to focus on where Nomio should be in 5 years’ time and figuring out exactly how to get us there.

You’ll be tackling all sorts — conducting research, negotiating contracts, managing Josh’s calendar, planning team events, taking care of the office, optimising processes, writing copy… Basically, whatever needs to be done to ensure the only things on Josh’s plate are the things that only Josh can do. No task will be too big or too small.

This is a brand new role that would suit someone ridiculously organised, who takes initiative (but is equally happy taking direction) and gets immense satisfaction from a job well done. The opportunity for impact in this role is truly limitless. We’re a small company with huge ambitions and the sky's the limit.

What you'll be doing

  • Building beautiful business systems. You’ll develop and maintain internal operations and ensure they’re fit for purpose as the company grows.
  • Acting as a connector and enabler. You’ll ensure Josh’s ideas are captured and shared with the relevant people to action.
  • Acting as an advisor to Josh. He’s only human and has blindspots like the rest of us. Thankfully, he has you to help him spot them.
  • Financial administration and budgeting. You’ll manage the invoicing and payroll processes to ensure Nomio gets paid by its customers and that the Nomio team gets paid.
  • Deal admin. Josh speaks to a lot of prospects and customers. You’ll ensure things keep moving and that nothing falls into the cracks after these calls.
  • Sweating the small stuff. You’ll be just as keen to replenish the company stash cupboard and empty the dishwasher as you are to pitch in with a sales proposal or draft an important email for Josh.
  • Acting as the glue that holds the company together. Taking ownership of the onboarding process, planning team socials, remembering birthdays, and just generally making sure everything runs like clockwork.
  • And so much more... as an early employee, you'll get a front row seat to every aspect of the company. You’ll play a critical role in forming its culture, building the operations function, and have the ability to influence business decisions.

Who you are

  • Conscientious: you’re meticulous in your attention to detail and feel uncomfortable at a job half-done. We’re saving our customers literally millions of dollars - so we can’t afford to make mistakes.
  • Self-assured: we’re an early-stage start-up and this is a brand new role. You’ll need to be comfortable with ambiguity. We do not seek outwardly or falsely confident people; we seek quiet confidence and thoughtful assurance.
  • You take ownership: you’ll need to feel comfortable making decisions, acting upon them, and moving on - and owning your mistakes.
  • An excellent communicator: you'll be context switching frequently and communicating with Nomio’s team and customers. Your communication skills need to be second-to-none to thrive in this role.
  • You believe feedback is a gift: there’s no better place to level up than here. We obsess over excellence, and the feedback won’t stop until you’re world-class, so you need to be passionate about what you do.
  • You have strong opinions, loosely held: we don’t believe in playing devil’s advocate. Have fully-formed ideas. Own your point of view but be able to back it up. If new evidence contradicts it, be prepared to pivot.

At Nomio, we believe that everyone should…

  • Write it Down. Everything happens in Notion — organised, permanent, and for everyone to see. Meetings are rare. And when we do have one, we write down the outcome.
  • Subtract. Nothing is as destructive or inelegant as the gradual accumulation of complexity. So we subtract. Repeatedly.
  • Embrace the Pain. We don’t distort the truth for the sake of comfort, convenience, or popularity; integrity comes first. We correct our mistakes and accept the fallout from our decisions — even the good ones.

Oh, and:

  • We work hybrid — you’ll need to come to our London (Victoria) office 2-3 days per week.
  • You’ll need the right to live and work in the UK. (We aren’t licensed to sponsor visas.)

Company Benefits

  • We'll supply you with a MacBook, and whatever else you need to get your job done.
  • You'll actually want to use our company-branded stash.
