Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
Q - Are you a graduate who is looking to get some on-hands experience supporting students with SEMH before starting your career as a Clinical Psychologist or Educational Psychologist?
If so, this role is perfect for you!
We are working closely with a school in the heart of Watham Forest who are wanting passionate, dedicated Psychology graduates who can start this September. You will be supporting KS1 and KS2 students with their academia as well as having a strong focus on their SEMH needs. You will have an exciting, diverse role where you can support SEN students on a 1:1 basis in specialist learning zones, as well as in small groups in the classroom.
Not only will you be building strong rapports with the students and seeing them develop and improve, but you will also have the opportunity to shadow professionals such as Counsellors, Psychologists and many more professions who will come into the school on a routine basis.
This SEMH Teaching Assistant role is perfect for Psychology graduates who have a genuine passion for Psychology, Children's Development and Mental Health.

About the role as a Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support
- SEMH Teaching Assistant
- Assisting students with mild - moderate needs such as Autism, ADHD and Dyslexia
- Helping students with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
- Building rapports with the students allowing them to trust you
- Taking students to the SEN learning zone on a 1:1 basis
- Occasional in classroom help assisting the lead teacher
- To participate in personal development, including training and other reviews as required
- Use creative and imaginative ways to engage with the students
- Monday to Friday 8:30-4pm
- £105 - £110 per day
- September 2024 start (for full academic year)
- Located in Watham Forest
- Full - Time, Long Term
The perfect candidate specification for this Teaching Assistant - SEMH Support role
- Bright graduate who has a 2:1 or 1st class degree
- Strong GCSE and A-Level grades
- Strong passion for working with students on their academia and mental health
- Enthusiasm and creative to be able to inspire children with learning
- Must be confident to help with KS1 and KS2 curriculum
- The ability to write cogently and fluently with correct spelling and punctuation
- Patience, kindness, flexibility, good humour and the ability to work as part of a team
- Professional attitude and approach to work
