Job Overview:

Are you a creative thinker with a keen eye for detail? Do you enjoy taking complex design challenges and turning them into high-performing solutions? As a Plastics Engineer at POLYWOOD, you'll have the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technology, designing and extrusion tooling for solid dimensional and foamed dimensional plastic profiles. To include: diagnosing and troubleshooting the extrusion process to make the best plastic profiles for furniture production. Your expertise will directly influence the quality and efficiency of our products, making you an integral part of our success.

What You'll Do:

  • Design & Development: Assist in creating and refining extrusion die designs using CAD software, ensuring they align with production specifications and industry standards.
  • Learning & Innovation: Stay updated on industry trends by exploring the latest materials and technologies, contributing fresh ideas to the die design process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with experienced engineers, production teams, and quality assurance to support the transition from design to production.
  • Problem-Solving: Support in identifying and resolving design-related challenges, helping to improve product performance and production efficiency.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing improvement initiatives, learning to identify and implement enhancements in die design processes.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:
  • Experience: A degree in engineering or a related field (preferred) with a minor in plastics (required).
  • Technical Expertise: Basic proficiency in CAD design software, with Solidworks experience being a plus. A strong understanding of plastics and extrusion processes is required.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Willingness to learn and develop the ability to think creatively and strategically to address design challenges.
  • Team Player: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a desire to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Attention to Detail: A careful approach to work, ensuring designs are accurate and meet specifications.
