Gradfuel is an innovative and fast-growing startup in the TA sector, operating under the business name Gradfuel in the UK. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Part-Time Finance Specialist to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations, including projections, cash-flow management, payment processing, invoice management, and will additionally support investment and shareholder activity. The Finance Specialist will report directly to and work closely alongside the CEO.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Projections:
- Collaborate with the CEO to develop and maintain accurate financial projections.
- Analyse historical financial data and industry trends to provide insights for future projections.
- Monitor and manage the company's cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity.
- Work closely with the CEO to identify potential cash-flow challenges and propose solutions.
- Process payments accurately and in a timely manner, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with relevant departments to obtain necessary approvals for payment requests.
- Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timely issuance to clients.
- Actively follow up on outstanding invoices and collaborate with internal teams to address any billing discrepancies.
- Assist in preparing financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics.
- Generate ad-hoc financial reports as requested by the finance team.
- Support activities related to investment, including research, analysis, and documentation.
- Assist in managing communications and interactions with shareholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in a startup environment.
- Strong understanding of financial principles, cash-flow management, and financial forecasting.
- Proficient in financial software and tools; experience with Xero is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
This is a part-time position, with an estimated commitment of 10 hours per week. The schedule can be flexible based on mutual agreement.
