A nose for a what makes a great news story, an eye for style, a love of all the things interiors and a digital native - is this you? We’re looking for someone who can create interior design news content for one of the world’s best design and decoration websites, Homes & Gardens.

What you'll be doing...

Homes & Gardens is looking for an Interior Design News Writer to create high-quality, compelling short-form content for its award-winning website. If you’re a writer who is used to the pace and has the taste required to produce quick fire, high-quality interior design news pieces, we want to hear from you! Reporting to the Head of Interiors, you'll also:

  • Pitch and write multiple unique daily interior design news pieces for Homes & Gardens to increase traffic through Google News and Discover, and Social and Partnerships channels (eg Apple News).
  • Partner with the social media editor and team to translate news content onto relevant social platforms, including first-person video and stills
  • Combine ecommerce opportunities alongside news-led content to support revenue and traffic goals
  • Work as part of a team producing news traffic and collaborate to learn from experiences and skills of others
  • Monitor news traffic opportunities for the sites and ensure content can be created to maximise that opportunity
  • Create relationships with interior designers to ensure exclusive content
  • Attend main industry events

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve...

  • Relevant editorial experience with a background in digital
  • An interest in homes and interiors, and an ability to American audiences
  • First-rate SEO expertise and an interest in and understanding of analytical tools, which you’ll use to form your content creating
  • Writing and editing skills - from the ability to write snappy headlines to tight grammar control, through to the ability to source the right image to draw people in
  • Understanding of media law and image rights. You will source your own images for stories and flagging any legal issues
  • You will need to manage your own workload and deliver to expectations
  • You’ll have a passion or experience with the data side of web editing and monitor and interpret performance and trends
  • You will need to be a team player - both with the industry and the wider Future team - to allow you both to sell our brands to the industry but also extract the knowledge we already have in the business and apply it

The expected range for this role is £26,000 - £28,000

This is a Hybrid role from our Bath, Cardiff or London Office, working three days from the office, two from home
