Job Description

About the role: As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be an essential part of a fantastic SEN team, supporting students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Your primary focus will be on assisting children with high-functioning ASD, helping them navigate the school day and overcome challenges, both academically and socially. You will work one-on-one and in small groups, using innovative strategies and resources to ensure every child can reach their full potential.

Application Requirements:

• Experience working with children with ASD (preferably in a school setting).
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
• A proactive, patient, and nurturing approach.
• The ability to adapt to different learning styles and needs.
• A passion for helping children with SEN succeed in their education.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students with ASD in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
• Help manage classroom behaviour and encourage positive social interactions.
• Work closely with the SENCO and other support staff to implement personalised learning plans.
• Monitor and report on student progress to ensure the best outcomes.
