Systems Architect – Defence Sector

Currently seeking a highly motivated Systems Architect to join a rapidly growing UK-based Defence team, driven by the success of new contracts!

This permanent position offers the opportunity to contribute to global security through the development of complex systems. The role provides exposure to cutting-edge technology and innovative systems in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Important:

This position will require UK Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship .

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and certification of system architectures for high-profile programmes within the UK Defence sector.
• Define both Mission Architecture (capability and operational) and Technical Architecture (conceptual/logical/physical) in line with Architecture Frameworks (NAF, DODAF, UAF) and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies (e.g., MagicGrid).
• Collaborate with engineering specialists to define safety and security architectures.
• Validate architecture models and conduct architecture reviews.
• Capture and define system requirements in partnership with systems engineers and Subject Matter Experts.
• Support the maturation of architecture business capabilities by improving processes, methodologies, and work instructions.
• Guide the development of complex systems to ensure alignment with technical architecture and compliance standards.

Essential Skills & Experience:

• Demonstrable experience across the full systems development lifecycle.
• Expertise in defining architecture for complex systems.
• Proficiency in applying MBSE methodologies.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve complex problems.
• Proven experience engaging with and convincing key stakeholders.
• Experience in requirements management.
• Eligibility for SC security clearance.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Familiarity with mainstream Architecture Frameworks (NAF, DODAF, UAF).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant systems engineering experience.
• Knowledge or experience within the Weapon Systems domain.
