Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Pay: £85-£100 per day
Location: Hackney
Job Type: Full Time, Long Term

About the role:
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? Do you have a calm, kind nature that helps build confidence in students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs? If so, our supportive and inclusive school in Hackney would love to meet you! As a SEN Teaching Assistant with a Specialism in SEMH, you will play a crucial role in supporting children across Key Stages 1 and 2 who face challenges related to SEMH needs. Your role will involve working closely with classroom teachers to create a positive learning environment and providing targeted support to help students develop both socially and academically.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs, either in a school or similar setting.
• A calm, patient, and nurturing approach, with a strong ability to build trust and rapport with students.
• A willingness to collaborate and contribute to a supportive team environment.
• While qualifications in education or SEN are preferred, relevant experience is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities:
• Work one-on-one and in small groups with students to provide tailored support based on individual SEMH needs.
• Assist in developing and implementing individualized learning plans that encourage positive behavior and emotional resilience.
• Collaborate with teachers and SENCO to monitor and record student progress, adapting strategies as necessary.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel respected and empowered to succeed.
