Department Overview

The Orthopedic Clinic provides a full ranges of services relating to musculoskeletal injuries and congenital disorders. Professional consultation, education, and outreach programs and services are available.

Position Summary

Responsible for application, removal and adjustment of casts and soft goods. Provides assistance to the medical staff with orthopedic procedures whenever needed to expedite the patient care process. Responsibilities include promoting patient education and safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, demonstrating understanding of resource utilization and completing all other duties as assigned.

Required:
* Two years of experience in a health care setting working with patients and staff, providing assistance with responsibilities such as a Medical Assistant (MA), preferably as an Orthopedic Technician.
* Basic Life Support (BLS)

Preferred:
* High School Diploma
* Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification through the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) or Orthopaedic Technologist Certified (OTC) through the National Board for Certification of Orthopaedic Technologist (NBCOT).

License/Certification/Registration:
* If candidate is not an ROT or OTC the employee must agree to complete the ROT examination within 18 months from date of hire. In order to qualify for the exam, the employee must have one year experience in casting under the direction of a physician or six months experience under the supervision of an ROT.

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.

All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of an occupational health assessment, drug screen, background investigation, and compliance with the U.S. Government Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification.
