Position Summary

The Manager of Simulation Operations has three primary responsibilities: simulation program operations, project management, and accreditation management. These key responsibilities support the efficient and effective operations of a busy multisite healthcare simulation program that delivers simulation services to multiple stakeholders. The Manager of Simulation Operations will maximize the program's performance by managing daily operations and implementing program strategy to meet the needs of the organization. The Manager of Simulation Operations collaborates with simulation program staff and external users in the development of simulation curriculum and advises program leadership as to what is needed to achieve high quality, safe, and consistent simulation experiences. The Manager of Simulation Operations will oversee the simulation operations specialists, and an administrative assistant.

Working at various Children's simulation sites, courses are scheduled in various venues, either in situ, simulation lab settings, or on Children's 40-foot mobile simulation bus. Reporting directly to the Director Simulation Program and indirectly to the Simulation Program Medical Director, the Manager of Simulation Operations will bring day-to-day leadership and support to an innovative program that meets the Society for Simulation in healthcare accreditation standards and the provides support for the strategic patient safety goals of the organization. Occasional off hours and weekends required.

Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS) certification a plus
Valid Class C Driver's License for driving company vehicle. Must have a satisfactory driving history and maintain that record requiring an annual motor vehicle record check.
Valid Class B Driver's License considered a plus.

Education:
*Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, communications, business, healthcare administration

Experience:
*Minimum three years of related experience preferably in simulation healthcare, operations, business/communications
*Experience with employee supervision, support and development
*Background includes management of multiple projects with varying deadlines
*Track record of managing budgets
*Experience with development of policies and procedures
*Experience with the development of standard operating procedures and/or standard work

Skills/Abilities:
*Demonstrated ability to support stakeholders with a wide range of experience with simulation concepts
*Working knowledge of curriculum development with strong abilities in logistics implementation and evaluation
*Possesses strong organizational skills (organized, detail oriented, ability to multitask with competing demands) with effective prioritization and focus on thoroughness and accuracy of results
*Familiar with accreditation processes
*Excellent customer service orientation and strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential
*Possesses the ability to problem solve
*Shows tact in high stakes conversations including political savvy
*Possesses strong professional judgment using discretion with confidential matters
*Possesses excellent team building skills
*Possesses the ability to provide feedback and utilize communication techniques such as crucial conversations
*Ability to work independently and as a team
*Strong PC skills including full abilities in Microsoft Word, PPT, OneNote and the ability to do basic Excel data manipulation
*Requires occasional availability outside the normal work day and rare weekends and overnight travel

The posted pay range represents rates for a grouping of multiple jobs within a salary grade. We carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Children's Minnesota.
