Computer Aided Design Technician

The Company

Globe 24-7 in partnership with an international consulting firm are working together to source an experienced talent for their operations in London.

The Role

1. Technical Drawing and Design: Utilize Civil 3D and other relevant CAD software to create accurate 2D drawings and 3D models for earthworks and tailings management projects.
2. Tailings Management: Apply expertise in tailings management principles, ensuring that designs are environmentally compliant and safety-focused.
3. Site Modeling: Develop 3D models to represent and analyze earthworks, including site grading, drainage, and containment systems.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, geologists, and environmental specialists to ensure that drawings align with project objectives and adhere to regulatory standards.
5. Quality Assurance: Review and verify the precision, completeness, and compliance of drawings with project specifications and industry regulations.
6. Revision and Modification: Update drawings and models as required in response to design changes, feedback, and project updates.
7. Document Management: Organize and maintain an organized library of CAD files, project documentation, and records related to earthworks and tailings projects.
8. Technical Support: Provide technical support to project teams, troubleshoot CAD software issues, and assist in addressing design-related challenges.
9. Project Delivery: Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines and deliver finalized drawings and models that meet project requirements.

The Requirements

1. Education: A degree or diploma in drafting, civil engineering, or a related field is preferred. Relevant certifications are a plus.
2. CAD Proficiency: Expertise in using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other CAD software relevant to earthworks and tailings management projects.
3. Tailings Background: A solid understanding of tailings management practices, including knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in tailings containment and disposal.
4. Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with civil engineering principles, including site grading, drainage, and earthworks design.
5. Attention to Detail: A sharp eye for detail to ensure precision and accuracy in drawings and models.
6. Communication: Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively within project teams and convey technical information clearly.
7. Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve technical challenges, finding innovative solutions as needed.
8. Time Management: Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines and deliver high-quality work.
