Elk Island Public Schools is recruiting a temporary part-time (0.596 to 0.872 FTE) Division 2 Teacher at Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary School. The teaching assignment includes: grade 5 homeroom teacher and will involve teaching Language Arts, Math, Social Studies, Technology, Science, Bible and Art. Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary serves approximately 580 students in kindergarten to Grade 6, with 26 teaching staff and 11 support staff. The school is located in Sherwood Park, AB. Strathcona Christian Academy Elementary offers an Alternative Christian program with a mission to challenge students, through Christ-centred education, to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord in order to pursue a life of godly character, personal and academic excellence, and service to others. Alternative Christian schools within EIPS follow the regular provincial curricula interpreted from an Evangelical Christian Philosophy. A teacher in this program is expected to bring a Christian viewpoint to issues and topics from all curricular areas.
