The Opportunity RVS invites applications for three term, full-time (35 hours/week) Success Coach(es) positions to work a 10-month school calendar schedule commencing immediately. The Success Coach works under the direction of the Stepping Stones Project Coordinator and in collaboration with school administration, guidance department staff and community partners. The Success Coach provides universal and targeted programming to the entire school community in order to promote mental health and well-being, as well as to increase knowledge and resiliency. The successful candidate will have a valid Alberta Class 5 Motor Vehicle Operators License and access to a reliable vehicle as travel is required. This position will work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends. Responsibilities Include Provides Universal Programming: Mental Health and Wellness Promotion to the entire school population and the community Strengthens and promotes relationships by empowering and nurturing attachments between youth, their school and their natural support systems in collaboration with school staff Demonstrates coping behaviours, knowledge and skills that assist children and youth to make positive choices Establishes effective mentorship opportunities for adults who interact with children and youth Assists schools in the development and delivery of proactive and preventative universal, targeted and specialized programming in the areas of mental health promotion, healthy living, positive life choices, cultural identity and positive social environments by facilitating a creative exchange of ideas and participating in their implementation Provides mentorship to programs that focus on mental health awareness and promotion in collaboration with school staff and community partners Supports others who establish positive relationships through role modeling, mentoring and providing opportunities for healthy peer interaction Advances an integrated approach to promoting mental health and preventing mental illness among community partners, government, schools and industry Builds capacity by increasing awareness and skills related to optimal mental health by facilitating discussions and providing resource materials for all members of schools and wider community Establishes and maintains positive relationships and collaborative partnerships with community agencies Connects youth to beneficial, affordable and sustainable community resources to increase networks of support through promoting collaboration with other agencies Education/Experience Bachelors degree in a human services field Two or more years providing programming for youth Experience in a school setting would be considered an asset Rocky View Schools Benefits 6% Vacation Pay Benefits Plan (Extended health, Dental, Wellness & Health Spending Account, Tax Free Savings Account and Registered Retirement Savings Plan) Professional development and training opportunities Free Parking Pre-Employment Requirements The successful candidate must submit a current Criminal Record with Vulnerable Sector Check within 30 days of the start of your employment Proof of qualifications/education as required by the position Open to: Internal and External applicants Salary: $26.78-$32.53 hourly rate How to Apply We request all applications be placed through http://rockyview.simplication.com/.
