THIS POSITION IS REPRESENTED BY A UNION - AFSCME 953
Annual Compensation Range ($USD): 89,890 to start, 99.901 after one year paid on a bi-weekly basis.
A Brief Overview
Under the general supervision of the Electrical Manager and direct supervision of the Electrical Foreman, the Electrician performs journeyman electrical work; installs, alters, maintains and repairs electrical systems and equipment. The Electrician completes work in crews and/or independently. Follows accepted trade practices in compliance with national and local building and safety codes.
This position is part of a 24/7 365-day operation which will include: weekends, holidays, and overtime which may be scheduled or of an emergency nature.

What you will do
- Installs, maintains, inspects, and repairs electrical distribution systems, electrical motors, generators, armatures and other electrical equipment.
- Installs, maintains, inspects and repairs airfield lighting, airfield signage and all other airfield electrical systems.
- Completes assignments using written or verbal instructions, sketches or blueprints.
- Installs, maintains, inspects and repairs the distribution and lighting systems for all Authority facilities including: buildings, roadways, parking lots and decks.
- Tests and troubleshoots electrical systems and related apparatus to locate malfunctions. Reads and interprets prints and plans to complete repairs and installations. Conducts sweeps to identify or locate existing distribution feeds.
- Follows accepted trade practices in compliance with national and local building and safety codes during the performance of all job functions.
- Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.
- High School Diploma or Certificate of High School Equivalency and Completion of an Electrician's Apprenticeship program or its equivalent.
- Have Basic Computer Skills
- Proficient with Email software/systems
- Must be able to learn how to use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for reporting on status of work assignments.
- ST of MI Licensed Electrician Journeyman or ST of MI Master Electrician
- Valid Driver License and a safe, acceptable driving record.

- Must successfully complete Airfield Certification (Movement Area) (within probationary period)
