Mission:

  • World Horse Racing (WHR) is a standalone digital media company, owned by the five stakeholders of Ascot Racecourse, Breeders’ Cup, Hong Kong Jockey Club, Goodwood Racecourse and Victoria Racing Club, with affiliate members of the Japan Racing Association, Jockey Club of Saudi Arabia and York Racecourse. We have totally transformed the social media landscape in horse racing in the last six years and are the fastest growing digital platform in the sport, with over a million followers.


  • The Videographer/Video Editor will assist with shooting and editing video content for WHR at some of the biggest racing festivals in the world before taking on further responsibility of filming and editing your own features.


  • The Videographer/Video Editor is a representative of World Horse Racing in the industry globally, and therefore will be expected to attend major racing festivals around the world throughout the year.


  • The role is judged on quality of output, attaining and exceeding our KPIs around numbers of views, impressions, and followers while adhering to the brand guidelines and maintaining the innovation of content that WHR has become known for.


  • This role is offered on a contractor basis, not as an employed position.


Location:

Ideally, London or the south of England, but worldwide for an exceptional candidate who can display experience of working in an international team across multiple time zones often on their own initiative.


Priorities:

The right candidate is expected to:


  • Have a proven shooting showreel of live action events displaying a perspective which differs from those around them.
  • Solid experience filming in a professional environment with experience on-event.
  • Be comfortable with a run-and-gun style of shooting live events.
  • Be comfortable with a quick turnaround of edits, especially while on event.
  • Be highly creative about video editing and production, with a passion for new ideas.
  • Experience across the entire video creation process from treatment to final delivery, as well as equipment and technology.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years editing experience with excellent ability in Adobe Premiere and proficiency in After Effects, Photoshop and basic colour correction.
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and prioritise tasks and work under pressure.
  • A love for travel, an ability to work in foreign environments and a willingness to fly globally for shoots abroad.
  • Keep across new social media trends, liaise with the audience development teams to translate sports or horse racing stories and ideas into social media concepts and content.
  • Be aware at all times of all World Horse Racing commercial partnerships and their requirements, and aid with delivery.
  • Have your own kit, although this is not a prerequisite.
  • Have a full and clean driving licence. A car is preferred.


Key relationships:

You will report to the WHR leadership team, working closely with the Creative Director, Editorial Manager, Head Of Social and our social media managers and producers around the world.
