Someone who values discretion and understands the importance of maintaining patient privacy.As a phlebotomist on our team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring that our patients receive accurate and timely lab results. Your attention to detail will be essential as you draw blood and collect specimens for testing. You'll be working with a team of dedicated healthcare professionals who share your commitment to the organizational mission and values of dignity, integrity, and unity.Duties Include:Accurately and efficiently processes the lab order according to the provider order.Prioritizes work to achieve maximum efficiency. Adjusts schedule in view of STAT orders, and urgent requests.Demonstrates a professional approach while using appropriate age-related competency skills during blood draws and lab specimen collection.Maintains drawing station and lab in a sanitary and properly supplied condition at all times.Verifies order is for the patient present and verify information by asking the patient to state their name and checking it against provider order.Maintains appropriate standards for infection control including, but not limited, to universal precautions, and correct hand washing.Uses proper veni-puncture technique and is efficient in obtaining blood samples.Labels the test tube immediately after procedure is completed with the patient name, date, time and initials.Demonstrates the ability to recognize the integration of the lab services with overall clinic procedures.Demonstrates competency in all procedures required by a phlebotomist by demonstrated correct use of various needles, anticoagulant, special handling by using correct storage temperature, and of test requirements.Performs routine inventory control by expiration dates, rotation, and temperature recording logs.Performs waived lab tests in accordance with MCHC waived testing policy and standards.Adheres to HIPAA rules when handling patient charts or lab results.Consults with the Director of Nursing, or LVN Supervisor for instruction regarding questionable requests from providers or staff.Performs additional duties as assigned.Benefits Offered:Medical, Dental, and Vision InsurancePaid Time OffLife Insurance401k MatchFlexible Spending AccountAnd more...
