Data Scientist
We are seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our client's dynamic Data Science team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining software applications and data pipelines to support various R&D activities. You will serve as a technical support contact for scientists and collaborate across departments to build solutions that improve data accessibility, integrity, and analysis. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from electronic lab notebook integrations to modelling, dashboarding, and data processing.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop well-documented and well-tested code in alignment with industry best practices
* Optimize existing Python-based ETL scripts to streamline the input of experimental data into the data warehouse
* Create and manage tools that ensure data integrity throughout the entire lifecycle
* Build and maintain SQL queries to improve data accessibility for scientific and operational teams
* Implement dashboards to support data accessibility across the R&D organization.
* Develop automated workflows using APIs
* Collaborate with data and bench scientists to establish ETL operations for AI/ML, statistical, mechanistic, and hybrid modelling efforts
* Support the development and deployment of models across the project lifecycle
* Provide technical support and training to R&D staff on in-house software tools
* Rigorously document all software development processes
* Stay up-to-date with the latest trends in data engineering and software development relevant to life sciences R&D
What We’re looking for:
* Ability to manage multiple unrelated projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines
* BS/MS in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
* Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL
* Prior experience in pharma or biotech (internships/placements included)
* Experience in software, database, or bioprocess model development
* Familiarity with web application development frameworks
* Experience with dashboarding tools like Tableau, Spotfire, or PowerBI
