Full-Time Teaching Assistant - Primary School in Richmond

Empowering Learning is seeking a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to support a Year 1 child with high Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a welcoming primary school in Richmond. This full-time role is ideal for a graduate with previous experience in a school setting, who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

About the Role:

Position: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Primary school in Richmond
Key Focus: Supporting a Year 1 child with high SEN
Start Date: Immediate start availableKey Responsibilities:

Work closely with the class teacher to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 child with high SEN needs.
Assist in managing challenging behaviours and implement strategies to help the child engage with their learning and social development.
Take initiative in adapting tasks and activities to meet the child's individual needs, ensuring they are included in all aspects of school life.
Be proactive in supporting the child's emotional, social, and academic growth, maintaining a calm and positive approach throughout the day.
Collaborate with the SENCO and other staff members to monitor the child's progress and implement tailored support plans.Candidate Profile:

Qualifications: Graduate with previous experience working in a school setting.
Experience: Experience supporting children with SEN, especially with challenging behaviours.
Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to take initiative when needed.
Resilience: Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations, while being proactive in finding solutions.
