Hours of Work: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Term Time
Pay: £85-£100 per day

About the role:
As our SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), you will play a vital role in supporting KS1 and KS2 students within our specialized ARP class. Your primary focus will be on helping children with autism navigate their school day, providing them with the tools and strategies they need to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will work closely with class teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to create tailored learning plans that meet the individual needs of each student. This role requires patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of autism and the challenges it presents. In return, you’ll find immense job satisfaction as you watch your students grow and thrive.
Application Requirements:
• Experience working with children with autism, ideally in a school setting.
• A solid understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder and effective strategies for supporting children with ASD.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
• A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
• Relevant qualifications or training in Special Educational Needs (SEN) are highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist KS1 and KS2 students with autism in their academic tasks, ensuring they understand instructions and stay engaged with their work.
• Implement strategies to help students manage their emotions and behaviors, promoting a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Work with teachers to develop and implement personalised learning plans that address the specific needs of each student.
• Maintain open lines of communication with parents, teachers, and SEN coordinators to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to each child’s education.
