We continually develop our facilities to meet the evolving needs of our curriculum and the community we serve. About the role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a specialism in Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our close-knit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced TA to make a significant impact in the lives of our students who require additional support.
As an SEN TA with a focus on SEMH, you will work closely with children who experience a range of social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your role will be crucial in helping these students develop coping strategies, build self-esteem, and achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, offering tailored support and interventions to ensure each child receives the individual care they need.
Application Requirements:
• Experience: Previous experience working as a TA, particularly with SEMH students, is essential.
• Qualification: Relevant qualifications in education or child development are desirable, but not mandatory for experienced candidates.
• Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, patience, and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
• Commitment: A genuine passion for helping children with SEMH needs and a commitment to making a difference in their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support to students with SEMH needs, helping them engage in learning and overcome barriers.
• Develop and implement intervention strategies that address the specific needs of SEMH students, in collaboration with teachers and SENCO.
• Use positive behavior management techniques to support students in developing appropriate social skills and managing their emotions effectively.
• Track and report on student progress, adjusting support plans as needed to ensure continuous improvement.
Perks and Benefits:
Joining our school means becoming part of a supportive, friendly team where your professional growth is a priority. We offer excellent training opportunities, particularly in SEN support, to help you develop your skills and advance your career. Our small school environment allows you to form close, meaningful relationships with students and staff alike, making every day rewarding.
